Answer:-

Required volume of carbon dioxide is

8.3 L .

Explanation:-

Method (1) :-

Molar mass of CO₂ :-

= 12+32 = 44g/mol

We know that at STP , 1 mole of any ideal gas occupies a volume of 22.4 L.

∵ 44g of CO₂ occupies a volume of 22.4L

16.3g of CO₂ will occupy a volume of :-

= 16.3×22.4/44

= 365.12/44

= 8.3 L

Method (2) :-

According to Ideal gas equation, we know that :-

PV = nRT

Where :-

P is the pressure.

V is volume of the gas

n is the number of moles of the gas.

R is Ideal Gas Constant [0.082]

T is temperature.

We know that at STP:-

• T = 273 K

• P = 1 atm

=> 1 × V = 16.3/44 × 0.082 × 273

=> V = 0.37 × 22.386

=> V = 8.3 L
