0.05M HCl

Explanation:

   *  The chemical reaction for the reaction in between HCl and NaOH is

                                HCl+NaOH \to NaCl+H_{2} O

  *  From the reaction we can observe that

      Number of moles of NaOH (n_{1} ) = 1

      Number of moles of HCl (n_{2} ) = 1

      And from the given data, Concentration of NaOH (M_{1} ) = 1/20 = 0.05M

      We have to find out the concentration of HCl , i.e. M_{2}  =?

  *  If the equal volumes of NaOH \& HCl are used in the reaction, i.e. V_1=V_2

  *    \frac{M_1 V_1}{n_1}= \frac{M_2 V_2}{n_2}

     \Rightarrow \frac{M_1}{n_1} =\frac{M_2}{n_2}              ( \because V_1=V_2)

       \Rightarrow \frac{0.05}{1} =\frac{M_2}{1}

      \therefore M_2=0.05M

    0.05 M HCl is needed to neutralize M/20 NaOH solution
