hello friend..!!

to determine the total resistance in the circuit ,

when ' i ' current flows from the positive terminal of the battery through the 5 Ω resistance , the current splits into ' i1 ' and ' i - i1 ' respectively , implies that ,

3Ω and 7Ω are in series so therefore R = R1 + R2

R = 3 + 7 = 10Ω------------------------(1)

this 10Ω resistance is parallel to the given 10Ω resistance in the circuit ,

therefore the total resistance is, 1/ R1 + 1/R2

1/R = 1/ 10 + 1/10 = 2/10 implies R = 10/2 = 5Ω------------------------(2)

now, in the given diagram the total resitance in thr small upper triangle is 5Ω.

now, to find the total resistance in the whole circuit ,

the all three 5Ω are in series so therefore,

R = R1 + R2 + R3

 R = 5Ω + 5Ω + 5Ω = 15Ω.

SO , therefore 15Ω is the total resistance in the circuit .

hope it is useful..!!
