X(-1)=3*(-1)³+8*(-1)²-6*(-1)-5
= -3+8+6-5
=14-8
=6
SO (X+1) IS NOT THE FACTOR OF THE POLYNOMIAL

divide (x+1) from  3x³ + 8x² - 6x - 5
i.e. we get a remainder 6 so we get that (x+1) is not a factor of the polynomial .

Anonymous: i cant show you the division because of lack of that kind of functions if any problems you face fell free to ask me.
