a) x²-=0. (x=1/√2), (-1/√2)

for x = 1/√2

 ( \frac{1}{ \sqrt{2} }) ^{2} =0

 ( \frac{1}{ 2 }) ≠ 0

for x =- 1/√2

 - ( \frac{ 1}{ \sqrt{2} }) ^{2} =0

  ( \frac{ 1}{ 2} )≠ 0

for x = 1/√2 ,

 {( \frac{1}{ \sqrt{2} } )}^{2} = 0 \\ \\ \frac{1}{2} \ne0 \\ \\

for x = - 1/√2 ,

 {( \frac{ - 1}{ \sqrt{2} } )}^{2} = 0 \\ \\ \frac{1}{2} \ne0

  • hence , both are not solutions
