checking the 1st sequence

a2-a1

 \frac{1}{2}  - 2 =>

 \frac{2 - 2}{2}  => 0

a3-a2

 \frac{1}{8}  -  \frac{1}{2}  =  >

 \frac{1 - 4}{8}  =  \frac{ - 3}{8}

here the difference is not same so , the 1st sequence is not an AP.

Checking 2nd sequence

we get that there is a common difference of 6.

so , 2nd term is an AP.
