◆ Determining the normality of the given HCl solution -

Take known volume of HCl solution and titrate it against NaOH solution of known normality.

Reaction for this titration is -

HCl + NaOH --> NaCl + H2O

Normality of HCl solution is determined by formula -

N(HCl)×V(HCl) / N(NaOH)×V(NaOH) = 1/1

N(HCl) = N(NaOH)×V(NaOH) / V(HCl)

N(HCl) = V(NaOH) / 20V(HCl)
