Determinism is a philosophical doctrine. It presumes that all events, including human, moral-based decisions, are ultimately determined by existing causes and that these causes are external to our will. The most obtuse version of the doctrine assumes no free will. By extension, it argues that we can't be held morally responsible for our actions.

Environmental determinism is the belief that the physical environment impacts human development. It believes that our physical environment shapes our culture and behavior. In other words, humans

adapt to the environment around them.

POSSIBILISM

Possibilism is, in many ways, the opposite of environmental determinism. It is the theory that humans evolve by altering the environment to best serve their needs through the use of technology.
