                                   Money, Father, Star, Home

My father had to rally struggle very hard before he became successful. He did not have as many facilities as the children enjoy these days. His father’s income was meager and the family could barely both ends meet. He would go to school on foot. He had to work at a shop part time in order to supplement the father’s income.

Sometimes, he got held at the shop until 10 p.m. at night. Often while returning home, he would look at stars which inspired him. After taking his dinner, he would sit in a corner of the room which he had to share with his brothers and sisters; he would study late into night – sometimes until 2 a.m. in the morning.

Thus many years passed before he completed his post graduation. He got a job at a school where he began teaching. Soon he became quite popular among the students. However, he did not stop improving. His passion for reading along with strength of character honed him into a wonderful human being. He thought of writing a book on his struggles and how he never gave up. The book became a huge success. Two million copies were sold in just three months.

After becoming so successful, he often looked at the same stars that he used to look at while returning home during the struggling days. He would wonder at the difference in his life. In the past he did not have money; but now he had plenty of money. He felt proud of the hard struggle he had to do; he was grateful he had a sweet home where his loving parents always supported him and motivated him.

My father built a star home with his hard-earned money

We belonged to a very poor family when I was growing up. In a small shanty home in a rusted old part of the city. All around we I could only see beggar, druggies and the like. My father on the other hand was completely different. He used to work hard, try his best to look presentable and whatever he earned he used to spend for us.

As a young kid, I never knew how much effort he really put in to make us happy or get us where we were, but I can understand now. I remember one day, I looked at a billboard and it had a beautiful huge house, really a Star house! I looked at my father and said , dad can we have a house like that?
My dad for some reason had tears in his eyes and my mom got angry and asked me to be quite.

That night I heard in my parents room, for the first time, my dad crying, he was telling my mother how he wants to give me a 5-star upbringing and a good life but that he has failed. I felt bad, but as a kid, i forgot about it really quickly.

However, even though I had forgotten by father hadn't. I stopped seeing him lately, and got to know he was working double shifts to make more money.
After a few years of not seeing my dad so often, we grew apart, I was studying and started going to college and developed my own social life..

And one day, I remember my dad didn't go to work.. and asked me to take a day off from college. I was stunned,he had never asked me to skip since he used to work so hard for me to go to college. I did as he told me and then he took me to a nearby place, We didn't talk much on the way, but he a proud little smile on his face which calmed me.

Eventually we came in front of a big 5 star house ... a house of dreams.. my dad got some keys out of his pocket and said , son here is your star house you always wanted. I was speechless, it was obviously a joke, but he repeatedly told me that he wanted me to have it and has spent the last 10 years trying to earn enough to make it happen.

My dad earned enough to give me a life he could never have
