Nidhi was a poor, hardworking, honest girl. One day as she was walking down the road, she heard a whimpering noise and it seemed to come from the unused well nearby. She walked to the well and peered down the side. A poor little pup had fallen into the well and was struggling to stay afloat. Nidhi called some passers-by, who managed to pull up the pup to safety. She decided to take the pup home and her parents agreed to let her keep it.
