Title : The Day I Never Forget
It was exciting . We had driven from Delhi to Nainital for just such an experience. But now it was cold and dark outside. We sat in the cosy, warm cottage on the hill. A wood fire burned merrily in the fireplace and bright lights lit up the room. The adults, tired after the journey, had gone to bed. "Let's hear some ghost stories,” said Mohan(My friend). “The hills are full of ghosts, you know." My cousins, Leila and Sheila, huddled together.
Shadows of the furniture in the room looked frightening in the room that had been so brightly lit a little while earlier. Suddenly, we heard the creaking of the front door. I got up and went to switch on the lights. Nothing happened. "The lights are not coming on!” I said anxiously. Light footsteps began to come towards us . We seemed to be unable to move. We came closer to each other and looked towards the small, dark shape approaching us and Our parents suddenly entered the room and shouted at us , why we are awake at the midnight. Next day, we left the cottage and went back to home. Me and my friends whispered ourselves, atleast we reached home safely!
