A Special Surpise

"Nobody tells me anything anymore", that's what I felt on the last 27th December. It was a sunny day, and we were two days away from our school's founders day. There was a huge pomp and show in our school. There were a few from our class who participated in it, and they were some of my closest friends! But they seemed strange, on that day, as we went for rehearsal, they started to ignore me. They were discussing something among themselves but as I went near they moved away. I gained courage and asked my best friend,

- Have I done something wrong? Why you all are leaving me alone like this? Can't you see I'm sitting at the corner alone?

- Oh don't behave like a child! Can't we have something to discuss among ourselves? Should we tell everything to you?

I felt extremely sad, almost on the verge of crying. What wrong I do that nobody tells me anything anymore whereas a few days ago I was the one with whom maximum shared their darkest secrets! I controlled my tears and said her, "Umm Fine! Go and discuss!" And she walked away, didn't even ask me if I was okay or not.

Next day I didn't feel like to go to school. But as it was just a day away from the founder's day, I had to go. I went to school with a sad face. And guess what?

There they were smiling at me! They remembered! Yeah they remembered that it was my birthday! My friends decorated our class and in the middle was my favourite chocolate flavoured cake. Our teachers, all my friends and our dance group stood there smiling at me. As they sang for me, tears rolled down my cheeks.
