Good Deeds
Our good deeds never go in vain; they give happiness to all. Recently I got an opportunity to do a good deed. I was on my routine morning walk in the famous Rose Garden where hundreds of health conscious people come early morning every day.
It was quite a pleasant day the sun had not risen yet. A pleasant breeze was blowing. Only a few people had come to the park. I was on my first round on the track meant for the walkers along the boundary of the garden. I had hardly walked a few hundred meters, when my foot hit against an object. When I focused on what I had hit against, I found a thick wallet lying in front of me.
Excited I picked it up and searched its contents. I was amazed to see it being full of notes. There were a few debit cards in it; the owner’s license was also in it on which was written the owner’s address. I felt the responsibility of returning the wallet to the owner. I discontinued my walk and went to the address I had read on the license.
The owner was elated to receive his wallet back. He said, “I don’t have the words to thank you. I can’t ever repay you for your help. Your honesty is great.” I thanked the owner for his appreciation. The owner gave me his card and said, “Whenever you need anything, I would love to do what I can.”
Thanking him, I came out. I felt a joy and contentment in my heart I had never felt in my life.
