Human societies are characterized by patterns of relationships (social relations) between individuals who share a distinctive culture and institutions. (it may range from Hunting and gathering society to Post-industrial society). since it may vary over space and time therefore there is no absolute limit to call a society as a developed society.

In my opinion in the context of development,  the society may be assessed  with two complimentary and mutually overlapping/clashing indicators and otheres can be added into following categories:   

A) individualism = developing the personality of human being, self confidence, dignity, happiness.

B) Intensifiers = more democratic and participatory, grass root
