Answer:

I agree with the given statement.

Natural resources are the resources that exist independently of human activity and can either be either renewable or nonrenewable.

The levels of natural resource degradation are rising as a result of the growing demand for development and urbanization. Factors responsible for the degradation of natural resources are as follows:

over Population

  • A growing population expands the demand for the resources and environments needed to support it. due to the increase in population, there has been an increase in the demand for food which has led to the exploitation of farming land and overgrazing of cattle.
  • The developing nations use an increasing amount of resources to industrialize and support their continuously growing populations.

Industrialization

  • Large-scale mineral and oil exploration began during the industrial revolution in 1760, and as the activity has grown over time, it has contributed to an increasing amount of natural mineral and oil depletion.
  • The smoke from factories leads to respiratory diseases and the chemicals discharged in water threaten marine life.

Deforestation

  • with the increase in demand for advancement, the capitalist owners are cutting down the trees to acquire more land for factories and houses. this has led to deforestation and eventually deteriorated air quality.

therefore, it is an objective reality that Development comes at the price of the degradation of natural resources.
