Development of new cities and expansion of the existing ones may affect climate. Is this statement is correct ?Why /why not.

yes it is correct because when people migrate from one city to another they leave their old houses which abandon after some time and the place become polluted and pollution effect global warming and global warming is the main cause of climate change as it change the normal temperature of earth and as people migrate to the new cities they cut down trees and effect the wildlife as well as effect the environment as the trees is the main source of our living as well as it gives us oxygen.

The statement is indeed correct , because  

When there are developments in the cities like houses , factories , malls etc. We tend to cut down trees for space which causes less rainfall and oxygen or ( fresh air ) for humans, plants and animals. The places will be crowded with cars and factories which may cause air pollution due to the smoke. There will be no places for the animals to live once there are no trees too.
