This statement basically means that the development of an individual influences how they learn. This could be the ways in which they are raised, the environment, or genetics.

  • When we teach we need to take into consideration a wide range of factors. As a child develops he will have different limitations on learning. We need to take into account the child's physical, cognitive, and social backgrounds as they will provide a good look into how a child develops.
  • One theory that talks about cognitive development are Piaget's theory which states that children are naturally curious and use exploration to make sense of the world around them. They will basically discover and adapt to the unfamiliar to grow and discover.
  • Another theory of Vygotsky states that the sociocognitive development of a child is essentially beginners and trainees who benefit through relationships with experienced mentors. He believed that in order for students to develop their cognitive abilities.
  • The development of a child is different from person to person. Not one person has a similar developmental pattern it all depends on multiple factors excluding what is being taught.
