To find:-

• divide 4500 into part such that 5% of the first part is equal to 10% of the second part.

SoluTion:-

Let's first part be x.

Let's second part be y.

Therefore,

→ x + y = 4500

→ y = 4500 - x ---(1)

★ According to question:-

=> 5% of x = 10% of y

=> 5x = 10y

Put value of y from the eq(1) -

=> 5x = 10(4500 - x)

=> 5x = 45000 - 10x

=> 5x + 10x = 45000

=> 15x = 45000

=> x = 45000/15

=> x = 3000

Now, Put the value of x in eq(1) :-

=> y = 4500 - 3000

=> y = 1500

Hence, The first part = Rs. 3000 and,

The second part = Rs. 1500
