devika has a square piece of cloth of area 9 meter square and she wants to make 16 square shaped scarves of equal size out of it. what should possibly be the length of the side of the scarf that can be made out of this piece?

Area of the square cloth=9 m^2

Req. no. of square shaped scarves =16

So area of each scarf= 9/16 =0.5625 m^2

We knw area of square = side^2

so, Side ^2=0.5625

or side/length=√0.5625 =0.75m
