There is a water vapour in the air. The water holding capacity of the air depends upon the temperature. In winter, when the temperature falls down, the water holding capacity also comes down. If temperature recedes mu
ch more, then the water vapour condenses and the dew drops are formed.

In winter the temperature of the atmosphere is low.

So the water vapour present in the air condenses and hence forms dew in grass.

This will only take place if the temperature is low enough to reach the dew point of the air.

Hence this phenomenon is common in cold countries, high latitudes and in temperate regions.

Hope it helps.
