Answer:
a) Idlis don’t contain any oil. It contains urad dal which is easily digestible. Urad dal is fermented and pressure cooked.
When idlis are ingested, increased mineral bio-availability present in the food, caused by fermentation, assimilate more nutrients like riboflavin, folic acid, thiamine, niacin, Vitamin K, biotin, some antibiotics and anti-carcinogenic elements into the body.
The micro-organisms deconstruct the protein, fat and carbohydrates into molecules that get easily assimilated.
b) Dental caries happens because of acidic action on the surface of tooth. The acid is generated when sucrose or sugar present in foods and drinks reacts with bacterial plaque present on tooth surface.
The acidic reaction results in calcium loss and phosphate getting erased from the tooth enamel, a process called demineralization or caries.
c) Dhruv can prevent dental caries by brushing teeth two times a day with fluoride toothpaste.
Daily cleaning of teeth is required. He can use floss or an interdental cleaner.
Also Dhruv needs to eat nutritious diet and balanced meals. He must also avoid too much intake of snacks.
