Around 5% of the Indian population is suffering from diabetes for more than 10 years and around 80% of the people who are suffering from diabetes have Diabetic Retinopathy.

Which means that 80% of those 5% of Indians suffering from diabetes have Diabetic Retinopathy.

In order to find the probabiltiy  of Indians suffering from Diabetes for more than 10 years and also has Diabetic Retinopathy is

0.05 x 0.8 = 0.04

which is around 4%

So we can say that around 4% of the Indian population have Diabetic Retinopathy.

Diabetic Retinopathy is a disease that affects 80% of people who have diabetes for more than 10 years. 5% of the Indian population has been suffering from diabetes for more than 10 years.

Since 5% of the population have diabetes then it must be in the term 0.05 and as of 8-% population that might have diabetic retinopathy will be 0.8

Hence, the answer will be 0.05 * 0.8 = .040

Hence around 4% of them will have the diabetic retinopathy disease.
