Diagnostic Test for Myocardial Infarction does not include: increase troponin ST elevation increase uric acid oligouria
Answers
Diagnostic test for Myocardial Infarction does not include Oliguria.
In 2000, WHO revised the diagnosis criteria for Myocardial infarction as an increase in troponin with ST-segment elevation and pathological Q waves.
The ST-segment elevation is an ECG finding associated with MI. Any distortion in the myocardium results in the distortion of the ST segment.
The myocardium contains a specific protein known as Troponin. Its level is increased in the serum following injury to the cardiac muscles. Hence it is considered a sensitive marker for the diagnosis of MI.
The uric acid level in serum is increased following oxidative stress, cellular inflammation and cardiac myopathies. Any injury to the cardiac tissues increases the serum uric acid level.
