Let the length of a side of a square= a cm

Length of a square diagonal(d)= √2a

d= √2 a

Diagonal of a square= 2.8 cm ( given)

2.8 = √2 × a

a= 2.8 /√2 cm

Area of square= side×side = a²

Area of square= (2.8 /√2)²

Area of square= (2.8 /√2)(2.8 /√2)

Area of square= (2.8× 2.8) / (√2×√2)

Area of square= (2.8× 2.8) / 2= 1.4 × 2.8 = 3.92 cm²

Hence, the area of square is 3.92 m²
