Observe the following diagram and answer the questions

Why does the wooden plank bend when books are piled up on one spot, but does not bend when the same number of the books are scattered across it? ​

due to the diference of pressure .As we know that prrssure= force / area here we notice that pressure is imversely propertional to area so in first case pressure is more but area is less.

but in second case area is more but pressure is less
