→ Heart is a hollow, muscular organ present between two lungs in thoraric cavity, slightly towards left.

→ It's size is about one's fist. It's weight is 300 gm in males and 250 gm in females. It is 12 cm long, 6 cm thick and 9 cm wide. 

→ It is protected by a double membrane called pericardium.

→ It's upper broad portion is known as base and lower portion is known as apex.

→ It is Redish-brown in colour.
