Given :  dialing a tele ph one number an old person forget last three digits remembering only that these digits are different he dialed at random

To Find :  what is the chance that the number dialed is correct

Solution:

old person forget last three digits

these digits are different

Total  digits = 10

3 Digits out of 10 can be selected in ¹⁰C₃  =  120 ways

and 3 digits can be selected in 3 !  = 6 Ways

Total possible last 3 digits = 120 x 6

= 720

Correct number can be only 1

Hence  chance that the number dialed is correct = 1/720
