Dialogue between Father and Son on Thrift:
Father: Did you buy the headphones?
Son: yeah dad, the same brand... Thank you so much.
Father: Good!!.. how much did it cost?.. From where did you buy?
Son: It was Rs. 1200 dad and bought from the showroom in the shopping mall.
Father: Oh.. at a reputable shop, where I enquired, they quoted only 800 rupees for the same brand.
Son: Really dad. I have paid Rs. 400 extra… could have got something else for that money.
Father: Hmm... true son… that’s why before buying anything we should look out for the best options. Nowadays consumers get a good bargain due to immense competition among the sellers.
Son: Yes, dad, I should have checked.
Father: Dear son, you need not to wait till you earn to understand the value of money because every penny saved is a penny earned. In the current world, getting and retaining jobs is a huge challenge and whatever money we save... small or big... will surely be a big boon during financially tougher times. We may not know what hindrances we may face in the future... but all we can do in the present is just to save whatever is possible.
Son: Dad, I realized the value of money and being thrift. I will be cautious about spending from now on.
