Dialogue

Daughter: Mother, you always tell me to respect our elders. But why? Why are elders important in our families?

Mother: Alright, I will tell you today why you should always respect your elders. Elders are wise and experienced people. They can understand you well and guide you always.

D: Is that so?

M: Yes. They have been through the ages that you are facing now. So they know and can clearly tell you what is good for you and what is not.

D: Oh. Now I see why they are important.

M: Not only that, elders are aged and are bigger to you in terms of age. Our culture always teaches us that we should always take advice from elders, revere them and do nothing without their blessings.

D: Yes, you are right.

M: That is why elders are important in our families.

D: I understand now. Thank you mother for explaining it to me.

M: No problem.
