C: NSS stands for The National Service Scheme. It is a public service programme sponsored by the Indian government. The programme is conducted by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports of the Government of India.
S: What is the function of NSS?
C: NSS has several functions. It mostly indulges in social service activities. During times of disasters it caters to disaster management.
S: This sounds very interesting Sir.
C: Not only that you will be given police and army like training. You will be honoured as a cadet.
S: I would love to join Sir.
C: You are most welcome. We would love to have more interested students like you.
S: Please give me the form then. Let me complete the formalities.
C: You can take the form but bring the form duly signed by your guardian tomorrow at the office.
S: Definitely Sir. I will come tomorrow.
