Answer:

A conversation between a teacher and a student is recorded below.

Explanation:

Teacher: Class! Could you please turn in your homework?

Student: I am sorry, Ma'am, but I forgot to bring my assignment with me today.

T: I don't understand why that happened; weren't you supposed to hand it in? You are aware that today is the last day, right?

S: I'm sorry, Ma'am, but I require another day to complete this. I was unable to locate my homework.

T: What sort of an explanation is this?

S: It should not be used as an excuse. Before I went to school in the morning, I had already completed my assignment. Today, while I was on the bus, I dozed off with my homework still on my lap. When I woke up, the assignment wasn't where it was supposed to be. I looked for it in every possible location, but I was unable to locate it.

T: Okay, you have until tomorrow to turn it in, and I also need a letter regarding this issue signed by both of your parents.

S: Okay ma'am.
