Answer:

Mother/Veronica: Mia/daughter come and help me in the kitchen, please.

Mia: NOO!! I am busy!

Vernica :WITH WHAT EXACTLY?!

Mia:*playing video game* uh..um...STUDYING MOM!!

Veronica: oh yeah then why are you playing video game?

Mia: WHAT? BUT how? you were in the kitchen

Veronica:*sighing and groaning*. Just come and help me!

Mia: with what?

Veronica: today is your father's birthday, I thought we both together could surprise him.

Mia: oh! right, I'll do the decorations and yo-

Veronica: no!! I finished decorating and inviting guests.

Mia: the only thing left is the cake?

Veronica: yes!

Mia: what now?

Mia: oohh, is this chocolate cake?

Veronica: yes, read my mind!

Veronica: Start by mixing the dry and wet ingredients in separate bowls.

Mia: then, add the buttermilk mixture to the dry flour mixture and mix the batter until well combined.  Pour boiling water into the batter and stir until smooth. The batter will be very thin!  pour the batter into your cake pans and bake the cakes on the middle rack of the oven and TA-DA the cake is ready?

Veronica: nope, dear, we are trying something else:

2 cups white sugar

1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

1 ½ teaspoons baking soda

1 teaspoon salt

2 large eggs eggs

1 cup milk

½ cup vegetable oil

2 teaspoons vanilla extract

1 cup boiling water

Mia: wow, this is amazing but kind of hard.

Veronica that is why I asked your help.

Mia: let me guess the steps:

Step 1

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour two nine inch round pans.

Step 2

In a large bowl, stir together the sugar, flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda and salt. Add the eggs, milk, oil and vanilla, mix for 2 minutes on medium speed of mixer. Stir in the boiling water last. Batter will be thin. Pour evenly into the prepared pans.

Step 3

Bake 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until the cake tests done with a toothpick. Cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove to a wire rack to cool completely.

Veronica: yes but how did you?

Mia: I know some spying hacks.

Veronica: hmm.... someone got some tricks on their sleeves

Hope this helps! have a good day
