Diameter of a circle is 26cm and length of a chord of the circle is 24cm. Find the distance of chord from a centre .​

Let AB be the chord and O ne the centre of the Circle then OA will be the radius of the circle now let us assume that perpendicular drawn from the centre of the circle to the chord bisect the chord at point D,

then

In ∆ AOD

OA²=OD²+AD²,

13²=OD²+12²,

13²-12²=OD²,

then

OD²=169-144,

OD²=25,

OD=5 cm
