Diameter of a circle is 40 cm. Distance of the chord from the centre of the circle is 12 cm . Find the length of the chord.​

  • Diameter =40 cm, then radius=20 cm
  • we know that a line drawn from the center to the chord is perpendicular to the chord
  • by applying pythagoras theorem
  • ac=√oa^2-oc^2
  • ac=√256 =16 cm
  • length of a chord =2×16 cm=32cm
