Diameter of a cylinder A is 6cm, and the height is 13cm. Diameter of cylinder B is 15cm and height is 6cm.Without doing any calculations can you suggest whose volume is greater ? Verify it by finding the volume of both cylinders. Check whether the cylinder with greater volume also has greater surface area

Answer:

volume of cylinder b is greater

Step-by-step explanation:

volume of cylinder a =πr²h

=22/7×9×13

=367.8cm

volume of cylinder b=πr²h

=22/7×56.25×6

=1060.75cm

surface area of a=2πr(r+h)

=2×22/7×3(3+13)

=301.7 cm

surface area of b= 2×22/7×7.5(7.5+6)

=636.8 cm

therefore cylinder with greater volume also has greater surface area.
