Concept:

Area is the space occupied by the shape, the area of the sphere is found by using the formula i.e. 4πr².

Given:

We have,

Diameter of a sphere = 5.32 cm

Find:

We are asked to find the surface area of the sphere with due regard to significant figures up to 2 decimal places.

Solution:

We have

Diameter of a sphere = 5.32 cm

So, Radius of sphere = (Diameter/2) = 5.32/2 = 2.66 cm

So,

Now,

Using the formula for the area of a sphere,

i.e.

Area of sphere = 4πr²

So,

Now putting values,

We get,

Area of sphere = 4πr² = 4π(2.66)²

On solving we get,

Area of sphere = 88.87 cm²

Hence, the Area of sphere is 88.87 cm².
