Radius (R) = 1.4 m/2 = 0.7 m

I’m assuming it’s a solid cylinder

Surface area = 2πRH + 2πR²
= 2πR[H + R]
= 2 × (22/7) × 0.7 m × [8 m + 0.7 m]
= 38.28 m²

∴ Surface Area of cylinder is 38.28 m²

[Note: If It’s a hollow cylinder then surface area will be equal to 2πRH]

given,
  diameter of cylinder=1.4m
  radius of cylinder    =0.7m
  length of cylinder    =8m
  T.S.A of cylinder     =2πr(r+h)sq.unts
                                 =2*22/7*0.7(0.7+8)sq.unts
                                 =2*22/7*7/10*8.7
                                 =22/7*7/5*87/10
                                 =11/7*7/5*87/5
                                 =1.57*1.4*17.4
                                 =38.2452

hope it helps
