Question:

Diameter of the base of a cone is 10.5 cm and its slant height is 10 cm. Find its curved surface area.

Solution:

Given :-

The radius of the base of the cone = 10.5 /2cm= 5.25 cm.

Slant height (l) of the cone = 10 cm.

CSA of a cone = πrl

  = \frac{22}{7}  \times 5.25 \times 10 \\  = 22 \times 0.75 \times 10 \\

= 165 cm^2

Therefore the CSA of the cone is 165 cm^2
