A Great Circle is a line that encircles a sphere at the center and if that sphere is cut into two parts following that Great Circle, two identical halves will be obtained.

Hence, the Equator is a Great Circle that passes absolutely through the center of the earth and it is the only latitude that can divide the earth into two identical halves.

However, all the longitudes can form perfect Great Circles, when joined with the longitudes directly opposite to them on the other side of the earth, as two opposite longitudes can form together a perfect circle that can cut through the earth into similar halves.
