diamond and graphite both are allotropes of carbon but graphite is good conductor of electricity while diamond is not why??

But in diamond, each carbon atom is covalently bonded with four other carbon atoms and there are no free electrons.

Diamond is a good conductor of heat as in diamond each carbon atom is tetrahedrally bonded to other carbon atoms. All the electrons are close together due to a strong bond between the atoms causing vibrations. Thus making it a good conductor of heat.

It does not have free electrons So it is bad conducter of heat &electricity.
