It is because diamond crystallize on what we call atomic crystal structure which means that when it is in a solid state there atoms held together by strong covalent bonds.

  • ❤.. Diamond has a \red{\tt{Three}}-\purple{\tt{Dimensional}}\orange{\tt{Network}} involving strong\green{\tt{C}}_\green{\tt{C}} bonds, which are very difficult to \pink{\tt{break}}and ,in turn has high melting point.
