Let the number of months be x

Find the cost of the community fitness center:

1 month = $60

x months = $60x

Find the cost of the fitness center near her workplace:

Fixed cost = $100

Monthly cost = $40

x months = 100 + 40x

Solve x:

60x = 100 + 40x

20x = 100

x = 100 รท 20

x = 5

Answer: Both the membership will cost the same after 5 months.
