Dear Diary:
You will be glad to know that I have won first position in inter-school Poetry Competition in the city last week. I had decided to present an inspirational poem. My English teacher made me practice 3 hours every day. During the practice sessions, she explained me the skills such as pronunciation, intonation, pitch, etc. that would fetch me more marks. At home also I recited my poem in front of the mirror. I watched many recitation performances on Youtube.
Finally, the day of the competition arrived. I performed with all my heart, mind and soul. The best part was the judges liked my expression and presentation. At the end I was given a thundering applause. I was so happy when my name was announced for the first position. At school also I received so much of praise and appreciation from the principal. That’s all.
