Dear Diary,

Today was a memorable day for me. I won the extempore competition in school today! I remember how just a few months back the idea of speaking in front of the entire class used to send shivers down my spine. It was Rhea, my best friend who encouraged me to share my ideas with my classmates. Soon enough, everyone was listening to my ideas. And then I found myself leading group discussions in class. Next, Rhea insisted that I give in my name for the inter- house extempore competition. I was reluctant, but surprisingly, she had full confidence in me. She told me that there is nothing to fear about public speaking. You simply have to make a start and then keep working your way through slowly. She was right! I took one step at a time, gained confidence and then overcame my fear of public speaking altogether. I am no more scared of facing a hall full of people. It was indeed an amazing day for me, with an amazing friend by my side!
