Dear diary,
I am so happy today. I won an argument with papa!!
So, today I was sitting at home and finishing my Maths homework when my elder sister came to tell my parents about her semester 5 marks. She had done extremely well. My sister is so much brighter than I am and that has always been a topic of comparison, still, I was very happy for her. It was then that my mother told us that her friend had asked her about my sister today, at office, and she wanted to know how she was doing. She was interested in a marital alliance between her son and my sister. My mother sounded positive about it and talked about how the prospective groom was a good fellow.
My father agreed with my mother and told her that they could definitely think seriously about it now, especially as my sister had just one semester left to get a graduation. All throughout my sister was continuously trying to tell them about how she wanted to go a post-graduation but no one listened. I got angry and told my parents that what they were doing was not right. It was my sister's life and she got to choose what to do with it. My parents became really angry and started to argue about the need to marry a girl early. I argued back. Though it resulted in a gruesome scene, they had to agree in the end that my sister could get married only when she wanted to.
My sister thanked me, though she didn't have to because I would have done it for anyone.
I feel so happy, diary.
That's all for now.
