Dear Diary,
I was going for my daily classes today. As usual, I was stuck in traffic near station road and several thoughts were going in my mind. Looking at the chaos there, I started thinking about increasing pollution in my city, anyway I did not have any other option! I look back or I look ahead, lots and lots of vehicles. Someone taking a u-turn or a group of people crossing the road, the traffics behind will slow and create a temporary line awaiting. A rickshaw puller entering from the wrong side, someone applying the breaks suddenly and getting hit by the vehicle behind, any reason is enough to start a quarrel right in the middle of the road. Then there is a long line of waiting vehicles. They don't turn off their engine and keep honking. The other vehicles just poke the nose in any little space left, the cycle or bikes filling up the thin space remaining creating smoke and noise at their peak level. Then I see trees on the divider, dry and almost lifeless. Not watering and littering on it makes the plant useless for the environment. Then I remembered the smoke I see once or twice a week regularly, that is coming from the burning garbage, the black ugly unpleasant smoke causing pollution. Throwing waste on the roadside tightly packed in plastic bags and often scattered by a curious street dog makes the whole area dirty. The overflowing dustbins on the road, open tractors carrying waste cause pollution. Vegetable and fruit sellers often leave leaves or waste on the road itself, public vehicle not using good quality fuel, taking bath and washing animals in the river, careless disposal of body parts by butchers, unorganized disposal of waste by factories, hospitals, hotels etc contributes to pollution. When will people learn? The job is not done by tossing the waste bags outside, it is not funny to damage or pee on the trees planted anywhere, bathing or wasting in the river is the worst thing to do, honking unnecessarily is useless, waiting in line will clear them more easily from traffic rather than overtaking and poking nose in the little space, it is not cool to use a big car for a single person travelling, cleaner fuel is little costlier than cheap ones but worth it for the clean air we breath in.Why not all cities of India can be called as the garden city or heaven on the earth, or paradise?
