diary entry on an interesting day at home

Dear Diary,
It is the 16th day of the Nationwide Lockdown due to the Covid-19 outbreak, and I have finally succeeded to do something productive. For the past two weeks, I had been struggling with being confined at home all day. I miss my friends, going to school, visiting the local library, playing in the park; even, going to the nearest market! I miss these simple joys of the world outside the four walls of my home. Well, I have finally been able to conquer my boredom by learning how to cook a meal! Today morning, mummy asked me to help her cut and peel off some vegetables. While peeling off the boiled potatoes, I noticed her marinating the chicken. On asking, she said she was preparing chicken curry for dinner. Within an instant, I asked her to teach me how to cook chicken curry. Then, or an hour or so, under mummy's supervision, I peeled off and chopped some onions and garlic, made a paste of them using the mixer, marinated the chicken with turmeric powder. Then, in the evening, I poured all the contents into a big steel pot, added water to it, and closed the lid for some time. Twenty minutes later, I removed the lid and fragrant smell of chicken curry made its way through my nostrils, and I was elated! At the dinner table, everyone appreciated my cooking skills, except my brother, who complained that I forgot to add enough salt to it! Even then, mummy was happy that I was able to cook a dish for the first time! I think I will try making butter paneer tomorrow!
