Today, the people who live on me are traveling to Florida for spring break. The kids are so excited I can hear them laugh through the thousands of miles of rock to my core of scorching lava. I am so glad I can provide a warm and sunny place where people can have fun. I have one major worry on my mind though.
Recently, the newer generations do NOT seem to care about me. Kids, teenagers, and even adults just throw trash on my surface and they never seem to care. The kids on the beaches in Florida throw wrappers on the sand and watch them blow away. The wind is supposed to keep me in good condition; not carrying wrappers and cigarette butts.
The trash is starting to pile up in the environments where my friends live. They are talking about moving to different areas with different climates so they will not have to deal with people ruining their homes. The birds are my very best friends and they are thinking of beginning to migrate at different times of the year because the seasons are becoming more extreme. I hope that the people living on my sand will realize that they are hurting my friends and me.....
