Helping a person from the chilling winter

Winters are colder this year than before. I can hardly think of throwing away my blankets and sleeping in an open field with the cruel chilling air blowing over my body. But this is the case with many people out here in Delhi. People don't have much come for earning money here. However, they don't take proper care of themselves and are left with diseases and other infections. We must remember that they understand the fact that health is more necessary but a few of these kinds are the only earners for their families, so they have to put them behind every member of the family. Anyhow, I met a guy yesterday with a similar situation. He was all coiled up in his rickshaw's seat and was coughing and shivering. I went to him and asked him that why hasn't he covered himself with some woolen sheets as the weather was so cold. He was a lanky man, around 27-30 in age, with a dark complexion. He told me that he doesn't earn that much and has also to save money for his wife and two children. He further said that he is good condition and for him it was tolerable. I shook my head in sadness and asked him to wait there till I return. Meanwhile, I managed to pack a few spare quilts and a pack of cold-reliever tablets for him. I went back to the spot and gave him three quilts, each of four kilograms, and the medicine. He was happy and excited after seeing someone helping him but refused to accept the kind donation. I insisted and finally, he accepted to take the blankets. I was also relieved that he would not have to coil anymore to save himself from cold. After the whole incident, I went back happily and ate my dinner as my mother kept praising my effort.
