Dear Diary:
Today Renu came to school after a long leave. She had been diagnosed with a terminal illness. She underwent quite painful treatment. I also had visited her in the hospital with my parents. The class-teacher guided us in welcoming back in a grand manner. Before the illness, she had been a brilliant student. Her contributions to the school were exceptional. So, we planned a grand welcome for her. We had decorated the card with welcome back balloons, posters. A special cake had been ordered with a welcome message written on it. She felt so happy at the welcome arrangements. Tears of joy welled up in her eyes and she thanked all of us profusely. I really liked the way we welcomed her. It must have made her feel good.
